Amazon Updates Seller Central Tools for Faster Inventory Management

Amazon.com Inc. has rolled out a series of updates to its Seller Central platform designed to help third-party merchants better manage inventory, reduce stockouts, and improve overall fulfillment speed. The enhancements are part of Amazon’s continued investment in streamlining operations for its more than two million marketplace sellers worldwide.

The updated tools include a redesigned Inventory Dashboard, new demand forecasting models, and expanded Restock Recommendations that integrate real-time data from Amazon’s fulfillment network. Sellers can now access predictive insights on seasonal demand patterns and set automated reorder triggers, reducing the risk of understocking or overstocking popular products.

Amazon has also enhanced its FBA Inventory Age and Excess Inventory reports, giving sellers clearer guidance on which SKUs to discount or liquidate. These changes are intended to free up warehouse space within the company’s Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) network, particularly ahead of peak shopping periods like Prime Day and the holiday season.

Industry analysts say the move comes as Amazon competes with other e-commerce platforms, including Walmart Marketplace and Shopify, which have been improving their own logistics offerings. By giving sellers better data visibility, Amazon aims to drive higher sales velocity while minimizing delays that can hurt customer satisfaction ratings.

The updates also reflect Amazon’s larger strategy of using data science and machine learning to refine supply-chain operations. The company has invested heavily in robotics and AI-driven forecasting to keep its fulfillment centers running efficiently, a key advantage in an increasingly crowded e-commerce landscape.

The changes are already live in Seller Central across the U.S. and will roll out to other markets over the coming months, according to Amazon’s support documentation.
